Sutter Creek Police Department
Welcome from the Chief of Police
On behalf of the Sutter Creek Police Department, I would like to welcome you to our webpage.
Our goals are simple. We want to provide excellent public safety services in a way that enhances and protects Sutter Creek. This is only possible if we work closely with the community and our partners.
Sutter Creek PD takes great pride in our partnerships in Sutter Creek and throughout Amador County. These partnerships include those with the Sutter Creek Fire Protection District, the Jackson Police Department, the Amador Sheriffs Department, the Ione Police Department, the Amador County District Attorney’s Office, Amador County Probation, the California Highway Patrol, and our schools.
As critical as these relationships are, our most important relationship is the one we have with our community. We believe that to truly provide public safety to the community, we need to know them, and they need to know us.
That relationship and trust is built on a daily basis, one interaction at a time. In addition to patrolling the streets, you will frequently find us walking downtown, at the schools and interacting with our residents, businesses and visitors.
The Sutter Creek Police Department has recently created a volunteer program where members of the community can participate and contribute as part of the police department. In addition to carrying out important tasks such as court runs, parking enforcement, evidence management and other administrative functions, these volunteers will conduct patrol “ridealongs” with our patrol officers.
Our Sutter Creek Police Department Cadets are the future of the organization. These high school age students spend regular time with SCPD officers who instruct them on police procedure, as well as the many different career opportunities that exist in public service.
The Sutter Creek Police Department has increased our community outreach, which has included a community forum on public safety, as well as Neighborhood Watch group meetings. If you or your neighbors are interested in starting such a group, or if you simply have questions about personal, home, or business security, please do not hesitate to contact us.
